Adil Bazid

General Manager - KSA

With over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, Adil Bazid is now the General Manager of our office in Riyadh. His role is to oversee all projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. For him, what’s important is being able to deliver the same level of quality and service to our clients in the Middle East as we do in the UK. He takes pride in upholding Optima’s reputation as an international leader in glass partitioning systems and solutions.

Adil’s multicultural background helped his integration within the GCC region and with managing a team of engineers, managers, and workers coming from different parts of the world. He is also a fluent Arabic speaker, enabling him to build some strong relationships with local clients and end users.

Adil joined Optima in July 2004, working initially as Site Manager within our Major Projects Division in London. He was soon promoted to the role of Project Manager. After an intensive training period, during which time he was mentored by an experienced member of the Optima contracts team, he took on some challenging projects. These included the International Maritime Organisation, the impressive new London headquarters of global architectural practice Gensler and dynamic global construction services company ISG Plc.

He also managed a number of projects outside of London, including the University of Edinburgh, Aramco Innovation in Dammam KSA and the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange.

“Delivering the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange project in 2009 was undoubtedly a turning point in my Optima career. This was a hugely challenging and technically demanding project and was of immense importance to the Optima Group. The project was a huge success for the business and for me personally. To see the stunning end result and hear the positive feedback was incredibly rewarding,” said Adil. 

Due to the success of the ADX project, Adil was asked to stay in the region to help deliver other projects and to assist in the growth of our GCC market share.

“I feel privileged to have worked alongside some extremely talented and dedicated Optima colleagues over the years. All the support and training, has given me the tools that I require to succeed in the Middle East.  With projects for companies such as Oracle, Citibank, Thiqah Business Services and Al Rajhi Bank already complete, I am excited about the future that lies ahead for Optima Saudi Arabia.”
