Bold, elegant glass partition design in London

The Optima Special Works (OSW) team worked to create an elegant and flexible office space at Bloom’s Ready to Work. Situated on level one, the design includes a variety of spaces to suit a range of working styles. From private and communal meeting rooms, phone booths and collaborative spaces our glass partitioning systems offer the ideal design solution. 

Hugely popular, Edge Symmetry double glazed doors were incorporated to create a series of phone booths. This framed door system not only offers an elegant design aspect but also has excellent acoustic performance. Achieving up to Rw41dB, this door is ideal for creating spaces to escape the office and make a private call.  

To compliment this sophisticated design scheme, we applied a selection of coloured finishes to our systems. Utilising our extensive powder coating capabilities, we incorporated a unique Light Champagne and Dark Grey finish to suit their theme. 

Furthermore, to complete this stunning design we installed a bespoke half screen using Optima 117 Plus Shoreditch Edition glass partitions. The system features a customised manifestation that uses leaves and plants to bring a flash of green into the space. As a result, this single glazed feature adds an unusual design characteristic to the space. 

Acoustic and visual privacy key for Ready to Work at Bloom  

As with all busy, open-plan workplaces, noise can sometimes reach uncomfortable and distracting levels. With this in mind, it was key to create areas that can accommodate the different needs of occupants. Revolution 100 double glazed partitions deliver the ideal acoustic solution for all areas of the office. Therefore, with enhanced acoustic performance, this system can achieve up to Rw51dB with one sheet of 12.8mm acoustic laminate glass. As a result, the stunning dry jointed system creates a collection of different sized meeting rooms which lead off from the communal areas.  

To further enhance the acoustic privacy throughout the design Elite Symmetry doors were also installed. Our highest performing acoustic glass door, this double glazed system can compete with bespoke acoustic timber door sets as standard. With an acoustic rating of up to Rw43db, this stylish double rebated door incorporates numerous acoustic seals, enhancing the overall performance of the office.  

As well as acoustic performance, visual privacy also played an important role in this fit out. Not only did Bloom want to create acoustically sound spaces but they also wanted to offer occupants visual privacy as well. To do so Project Manager, Martin Shadlow and his team installed a reeded manifestation to the glass throughout the design. In doing so, this ensured visual Bloom was able to maintain visual privacy throughout without compromising style, creative vision, or natural light.  

Specifying for fire safety  

Keeping people safe in the workplace has become a major focus for all businesses over the last few years. This was exactly the case for Bloom’s beautifully designed Ready to Work office space. As a result, Technishield 65 glass partitions and doors were installed, offering 30 minutes integrity and insulation as standard. Offering complete coverage, this fire safe system delivers a high-performing solution, meeting the visual and practical demands of the design. Furthermore, the addition of Shoreditch Edition bars to the system brings a striking industrial look to the space. Bonded to the glass the slimline aluminium framework also gives the appearance of cutting through the glass whilst retaining structural stability.
